The project emerges as a strategic territorial regeneration initiative, aimed at re-establishing an active relationship with the fluvial landscape of the Molgora stream.
The concept, developed by TECO+partners, integrates architecture, sustainability, and context, resulting in a clear functional layout articulated through three primary volumes: the entrance atrium, the changing rooms block, and the pool hall, which forms the compositional and distributive core of the entire complex.
The overall design is characterized by openness, permeability, and a strong sensitivity to environmental integration.<\/p>\n
The building engages with the Molgora\u2019s riverine landscape through reflective volumes that amplify natural colors and light. The large north-facing glass fa\u00e7ade opens the interior toward the green area and the outdoor summer pool, while a central courtyard allows nature to physically and visually permeate the architecture.
Translucent materials and light interplay dematerialize the built volumes, creating a symbolic and visual connection to the natural surroundings.
The complex is organized around the covered pool hall, the project\u2019s central nucleus, from which the other functional spaces branch out. The three pools\u2014a competition pool, a multifunctional pool, and a leisure\/recreational pool\u2014address diverse user needs, ensuring flexibility and inclusivity.
The floor plan fosters a strong dialogue between interior and exterior spaces, enhanced by large glazed surfaces and skylights that ensure abundant natural light and a continuous perceptual link with the landscape.<\/p>\n
Material treatment plays a central role in the project: the combination of reflective surfaces and backlit glass slats along the upper edge of the building generates effects of visual lightness and volumetric dematerialization, establishing a symbolic relationship with the nearby Molgora stream.
The irregular pattern of the fa\u00e7ade cladding evokes the fluidity of water and contributes to the visual integration of the architecture within its fluvial context.
The dark, plastered base forms a solid grounding element that, by contrast, enhances the suspended perception of the main volume.
Externally, relaxation areas and a summer pool complete the program, in harmony with the existing green infrastructure and the diverse uses envisioned for the surrounding park.<\/p>\n
Environmental sustainability has been a priority since the early design phases.
To reduce embodied carbon emissions, low-impact materials with high recycled content were selected. During the operational phase, a significant share of electricity consumption is covered by on-site renewable energy production.
The building meets nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Building) standards thanks to its minimized energy demand.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
