The TECO+partners project for the infant school and primary school of Riva di Tures is developed in the area of the existing building, between the centre of the town and the church, on terrain strongly sloping towards the south and offering a majestic view of the valley and the surrounding mountains: Collalto and Monte Nevoso.
\nThe plan involves a building that will govern relations between interior and exterior, structured for optimal fruition of natural light and for the creation of a system of routes between the internal functions.
\nA broad open space located in the direction of the south eastern corner of the plot, with the buildings in an L-shaped layout on the northern and western sides and overlooking the courtyard, allows constant natural light on the fa\u00e7ades and the courtyard during the hours of the morning.
\nThe volumetric bodies that develop around the central void are arranged between two elements, related to the conformation of the building placed on a base. The first has the features of traditional construction and creates an open dialogue with the surrounding buildings. The second is almost camouflaged so as to integrate with the fascinating landscape around it, counteracting the visual perception of the first construction. This duality is dissimulated in the interior, where the connecting space is treated fluidly, creating a constant relationship between the different levels of the building.
\nThe interior of the structure is conceived to stimulate the child\u2019s interaction, without sacrificing security.
\nThe vertical routes passing through the three floors of the building are inserted in a sort of container-kaleidoscope, the terminal of which is the skylight on the roof.
